Die Gerste für diesen Single Malt Whisky wurde über Buchenholz gedarrt, welches dem Medium-Smoked Whisky seinen angenehm rauchigen Touch gibt. Die Lagerung erfolgte in Zigarillos - spezielle Fässer aus französischer Limousineiche.
Unsere Nasen und Gaumen versprechen:
In der Nase entfalten sich malzig-komplexe Röstaromen, Vanillenoten, dezente rauchige Töne und Kohle. Am Gaumen Kaffeebohnen, dunkle Schokoladetöne, fruchtige Noten gepaart mit rauchigen Akzenten, Kohle und Meeresgeruch. Langes Finish mit Trockenfrüchten und Rauch.

"Nose (23.5/25) this is as delicate and layered as the Burn Out is uncompromisingly one-dimensional and in your face. The smoke this time lacks acidity and plays the role of chaperone to the gentle vanillas rather than a guard determined to keep them out...; taste (23/25) if this was a plane landing, you wouldn't feel the touch down, let alone a bounce. Effortlessly delicate despite the width of the spectrum of smoke, which ranges from dry and precise, to silky sweet and anchoring. There is even a curious, palate-cleansing citrus note blowing through, before the creamy hickory arrives; finish (22/25) a very quiet finale. The oils have congregated now. A light milky praline note is caressed by the remaining genteel smoke...; overall balance (23/25) I nosed this side by side Burn Out to gauge the variance in smoking levels. By comparison this is slightly nearer light than medium but there are still phenols enough to ensure that weight and depth are maintained throughout. What you don't get is the almost insane variance between sweet and dry, the sugars here much more of a muscovado style, this generating a light fruity note through the piece. Delightful."
